Ideas for 5.11 Standard:
Grade 4: Student Animal Reports:
Students will design pages based on animals using the internet for pictures, information for pages, with final project being printed and placed into a class animal book.
Grade 2: Students will use map software program. Students will zoom in to their home town and find their home address and school.
Grade 4: Students will take head shot pictures of each other, download, and print pictures to be attached to magnet paper. Students will use these 2" by 2" magnets to show graphs related to unit.

To complete standard 5.11, I will use a website that deals directly with the book and chapter I will be using.(http://www.classzone.com/books/americans05/index.cfm) This website is a site that deals directly with the exact book I am using to teach my lessons. For each chapter it has quizzes, crosswords, and other assignments or tools that help the students with each chapter. What I would do is have the students get on the internet and this website and have them pick on or two of the many things on there to do and complete. This would do two things. ONe, it would address the diversity issue, in that the students can pick something that they fill strong in, and two it is using the internet as an enrichment tool for each chapter I would be going over.

My supervisor at Cotopaxi told me how to do this, and I just briefly looked at it when I was trying to complete this assignment and I am really excited. All you have to do is type in the publisher of your textbook, go to their main website, and then go through a few more websites to find your exact book, and then you have several things that will help you and your students for each chapter.

I plan to apply standard 5.11 to my TWS by having them play on an electric piano system that allows me to monitor every student from a computer. This will also be a great way to assess!

The Columbian cohort is loving the curriculum lab/staff for providing us with technology items. We have all used our tech. cart, the CPS, and the Smartboard on numerous occasions. Kirk Guddendorf as even eliminated the use of the dryerase board in his classroom and uses the smartboard to constantly keep his thirty students motivated to learn. Brian Montez as shown his class many presentations using the projector and he awakened his student's imagination by giving them a pretest using the CPS. Katy Dunscomb has utalized the projector to show her students pictures improving skills of "show not tell" in students writing.
